Dr. Maribeth Bangert

Optometrist

Dr. Maribeth Bangert was born and raised in White Cloud, MI, and is a 1995 White Cloud High School graduate. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Vision Science from Ferris State University in 2000 and received her doctorate in Optometry from the Michigan College of Optometry at Ferris State University in 2002, graduating with highest honors in both degrees.

Dr. Bangert is a member of the West Michigan Optometric Association. She frequently participates in international Eye Care Mission trips with several organizations including Fellowship of Christian Optometrists (FCO), Volunteer Optometric Services for Humanity (VOSH), and several local churches. She has participated in over a dozen Eye Care Mission trips where she has helped to provide vision and eye examinations, and dispense glasses and medications free of charge. These trips have included Haiti, Honduras, Ecuador, the Philippines, and most frequently Guyana, South America.

Dr. Bangert specializes in routine and problem-focused eye examinations, family comprehensive care, pediatric eye exams, contact lens fittings, and pre-and post-operative examinations.

When not at the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Andy, their 2 children, and menagerie of animals and pets. Family time and travel are her favorite ways to spend her free time.

Becky

Optician

Becky is a second generation optician with over ten years of experience. She loves working with people, and helping them with their optical needs. When she is not helping pick out an amazing pair of frames she is traveling with her husband and two dogs.

She is also known to spend her weekends camping or skiing with her family. Becky is also really enjoying her newest role as Grandma!

Susan

Optician, Office and Technical Associate

​​​​​​​Susan has worked at Modern Optics since 2001. She loves to assist people with frame and lens selection! A self-taught computer gal, Susan also serves as our office "IT" Department.

When she isn't working, Susan plays the French Horn in several local bands and orchestras in addition to an occasional gig in the pit for musicals around town! She loves spending time with her husband, three children, granddaughter, and 2 silly cats.

Loretta

Loretta joins Modern Optics with 30+ years of optical experience. Her love for unique and stylish eyewear makes Modern Optics a perfect fit for her. Outside of working, Loretta's greatest joy is spending time and loving on her family

Andy

Andy is a graduate of the Optician program at Ferris State University. He has over 25 years of experience and has been in many aspects of Opticianary field. He comes with a wealth of knowledge and knows many other opticians across this state. He enjoys the challenge of custom work with choosing unique products, tints, and designs to maximize vision for our patients. He can often be seen in the back room working on broken glasses and complicated repairs. Outside the office he enjoys working on rehabbing houses, traveling and spending time with family.

Andrea

Andrea comes to Modern Optics with 5+ years optical experience. Outside of work Andrea loves spending time with her family, working in her garden, and reading.
