In August of 1971 Ben Conens originally started Modern Optics. His son, Vince worked with his father in the business until January 1, 1984 when it was transferred to the next generation and Vince and Linda Conens continued the business operating as an independent private practice. Aug 1, 2021 Vince and Linda decided that it was time to transition into retirement so that they could enjoy all that their next season in life had to offer.

Dr. Maribeth Bangert continues to provide care here at Modern Optics in the form of eye examinations and contact lens care. Dr. Bangert has been the optometrist here for the past 13 years. Modern Optics continues to operate as an independent private practice that can provide not only excellent eye examinations and prescriptions, but also high quality glasses, contact lenses, repairs, and special orders. ​​​​​​​

​​​​​​​Working alongside Dr. Bangert, we have Susan and Becky, our well trained opticians each with years of experience in the eyeball world as well as our front desk staff Amy. Their extensive background and skill level enable us to provide excellent service on all aspects of eyewear and lenses including repairs and special orders. No matter who helps you with your glasses, at Modern Optics you are in good hands that have years of experience and extensive training.​​​​​​​
